Special Times

I have been sharing my life with this man for the last 19 years.

💓💓💓

Time flies, huh? It has been wonderful.

Toowoomba you Carnival of Flowers

A breathtaking month of flowers, flavours and sounds, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers takes over the Southern Queensland city of Toowoomba in the most beautiful of ways each September with a program of unique events and experiences including award-winning parks, stunning private gardens, a street parade bursting with floral colour, internationally acclaimed musical acts, some of the best food and wine to be found in Queensland and a multitude of cultural and natural adventures.

Paul and I went up to Crows Nest to our friends (who are Duncan’s parents), Geraldine & Andrew, to view the open gardens. Miranda, Duncan & their kids came, too.

A Day in the Life of Grandma

Grandkids asleep. Grandma & Harry relaxing for 30 mins.

House ready for weekend visitors.

No shoes policy kicks in on Monday.

P.S. I pressed ‘send’ and heard a baby cry at the same moment. Peace lasted the time it took to write the post. We had a fab day together.

Castle Bliss

The only things missing are pictures on the walls & a mat (still rolled up). This house has smaller rooms so it looks more squashed in, but who cares? There are seats for visitors!

Once the veranda roof is rebuilt, it will look a whole lot better. The kiddie things can go out there.

Thanks to Nina Simone, a 70s playlist from YouTube & ABBA, I have finally (referring to something that happened after a long time and usually after some difficulties) and at last (used because we have been impatient as a result of long delays) finished the family room. It’s functional and tidy. 100 boxes of books have been sorted and either shelved or donated to the next Rotary book fair.

The boxes have also been passed on.

Paul’s ‘media room’ now has a TV set up and functional enough that it can play DVDs. We still need to get in a sparky to put in an aerial. Sadly, our smart tv is now really dumb. It seems to have lost its ability to connect to Netflix, etc because it cannot cope with the faster internet speeds. We still think about it as our ‘new’ TV. We worked out that it’s only 12 years old.

This means that I can now pull out a cross stitch project that I should have started in May and that I’m back to the gym on Monday.

I’ll probably regret this, tomorrow!

Father's Day 2021

Wishing fathers and father-figures a very happy Father's Day today.

Also remembering dads who are no longer with us and who are very much missed.
