WIP (not UFO) to finish - 'At the Beach'

This is a three part project collected from 'Cross Stitch & Country Crafts' Magazines & started in 1989.

Part 1 (pictured below) was featured in this post.

In late May 2007, I started Part 2. This was the progress after 10 days of stitching. Not bad, huh? The gridding makes makes it much, much easier to stitch than the 'working from the centre' rule.

Since it's Summer holidays, I have the house to myself & it's still raining, it's time to do some more work on it. When it's finished, or I get sick of it, I swear I'm starting a new project!

Happy stitching everyone!

Bliss, Part 2 looks so light & airy...lucky you to be having summer in January. I'd take rain any day over cold white snow...today it was so cold, I had to scrape the windshield outside and inside...what a mess!

I agree with you about gridding helping keep things on track...I'll use it on all my big projects, especially dark backgrounds!

Looking awesome. Have fun with it this go around.

I've yet to grid a project, but I think I really want to eventually. I might on a HAED I have started, or maybe even a Mystic Stitch piece I have barely just begun.

Without gridding, I'd have finally given up cross stitch in frustration of never finishing a project! I think it a most under-rated cross stitch technique.

You're making great progress!

I've never gridded. Knowing me, I'd miscount and make a bigger mess than if I just miscounted on a few stitches and had to frog, lol.

If it works though, stick with it. Whatever helps get the WIP's finished.

Wow, you're just flying through projects. Dreamcatchers is awesome. I'm about 90% sure I have this kit in my stash somewhere, guess I should go find it and see if I'm lucky enough to have the color version of the chart huh. Beach is so pretty, and you've got a great start on that one too. You're going to be on such a finish high with these three when you finish Beach that you won't be able to contain yourself.

I'm full of exciting plans for after I've finished this project. Sadly, work commitments from the 29th Jan will keep me somewhat 'contained'.

I love these beach scenes! I have them on my to-do list, too! You are doing a great job! Dreamcatchers is beautiful! I need to pull out some of my UFOs and get them finished up! Have a great day!

I love your Dreamcatcher finish, it's really beautiful. Your new project is really cute. I also grid, because I don't like to start in the centre necessarily.
